Leo L. Smith, 60, Dies; Rites At Mars Hill

Funeral services for Leo L. Smith, 60, of Rt. 1, Montgomery, were held at 2
p.m. Monday at the Mars Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerrell Paige and
Dale Durant officiating.  Burial was in Mars Hill Cemetery under direction
of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mr. Smith died at 5 a.m. Sunday, February 25, 1973 at Rapides General Hospital
after a short illness.

A native of Winn Parish, he was a World War II veteran.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Smith of Verda; three
brothers, Elmo Smith and Robert Smith, both of Verda and Maurice Smith of
Montgomery; four sisters, Mrs. Anice LaCroix of Columbia, Mrs. Dorothy Dunn of
Shreveport, Mrs. Mary Dell Fletcher of Montgomery, and Mrs. Rita Thigpen of
LaCompte; and a number of nieces and nephews.
