All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: August 15, 1957 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Pat Smith Dies; Funeral Services Held Wednesday Funeral services for Patrick Smith, 69, were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Corinth Cemetery. Dr. W. L. Holcomb and Rev. E. B. Barton officiated at the services. "Pat" Smith as he was known throughout the area, was found dead Tuesday about 2:30 p.m. by Louie James and J. J. Crippen who went to look for him. Mr. James said that he had not been seen since Saturday and they thought he might be sick. They found him sitting in a chair in his home on East Main, where he lived alone. Pallbearers for the services Wednesday were Benny Roberts, Duffy Hoffman, G. C. McCarty, James Vines, Orlon Swilley, and Mr. Moore. Mr. Smith is survived by four sons, Russell of Winnfield, Huey of Ft. Worth, Tex., James P. in the U. S. Air Force in Germany, and Billy in the U. S. Air Force in Alabama. He also leaves three brothers, C. S., J. R., and Durias, of Rt. 2, Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. John Dawson of West Monroe and Mrs. R. W. Bartley of Winnfield; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
