All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: March 31, 1927 Winn Parish Enterprise Death Of Mrs. Rhoda Smith Mrs. Rhoda Smith, age 83 years, 2 months, and 5 days, of Route 2, Winnfield, La., died Thursday morning March 17, 1927. Mrs. Smith was born in Alabama, January 12, 1844. She first married Jasper Mural, who died during the Civil War. She then married Patrick Smith, who died in 1908, leaving her and eight children. Mrs. Smith lived a noble Christian life and a friend to everyone. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Lewis while visiting her and was buried at Corinth Cemetery, Rev. A. J. McMurry conducing the funeral service. Mrs. Smith leaves eight children to mourn her death: Mrs. Lizzie Long, Mrs. Alice Lewis, Mrs. Darius Smith, Mrs. Margie Bartley, Mrs. Missouri Dawson, James and Charlie Smith, of Route 2, Winnfield, and Pat Smith of Winnfield. Also, 52 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. All of her children were at her bedside at her death. By Mrs. Florence Lay.
