Sanders, 60, lifelong resident of Winn Parish who died at his home here Tuesday. Rites were conducted by Rev. Alwin Stokes, and interment with Masonic rites was in the Gorhamtown Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Welby Willis, Melton Hightower, John Y. Bell, Harper Terrill, J. W. Mitchell, D. L. Hofmann, James Eagles, and H. A. Porter, all members of the Eastern Star Masonic Lodge No. 151, F. & A. M. The deceased was born in Winn Parish on March 13, 1888. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and of the Masons and Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Martha Sanders; a son, D. R. Sanders of Ruston; four daughters, Mrs. Fred Mixon of Atlanta, Mrs. Alvin Keen of Tullos, and Mrs. Clifford Melton and Mrs. Lonnie Franks of Winnfield; two brothers, R. F. Sanders and R. C. Sanders of Winnfield and seven half brothers; a sister, Mrs. Nila Taylor of Winnfield, and a half sister; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Honorary pallbearers included G. M. Walsworth, E. J. Buchanan, C. W. Allen, G. H. Hightower, C. F. Walsworth, C. O. Lattier, Ralph Frazier, Dudley P. Shell, Fletcher Melton, E. D. Nicklas, Dan Page, Ellis Prince, Arthur McMurry, J. C. Brock, Jr., Will Dean, J. W. Richardson, Eli Harrell, Bryant Sholars, and W. U. Drewett.
