Sister of Sikes Residents Dies In West Monroe

Mrs. Claudia Viola Sanford, 65, of Rt. 1, West Monroe, died early Saturday,
March 6, 1971, at a Monroe hospital following a short illness.  She was a
native of Sikes and was the sister of Mrs. Walt Smith and Miss Carrie
White of Sikes.

The deceased was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. Jackson White of
Sikes.  She was a member of the New Chapel Hill Baptist Church of West Monroe,
and was the widow of the late Sam D. Sanford.

Final rites were held Sunday at the New Chapel Hill Baptist Church with burial
in the church cemetery.

Besides her sisters of Sikes, the deceased leaves three sons, one daughter, 15
grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
