Funeral services were conducted in Bastrop Tuesday at 10 a.m. with burial in Bastrop Cemetery. Mr. Sanders was a retired farmer and had resided in Bastrop for 15 years. He was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church and a native of Winn Parish. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Beatrice Sanders of Bastrop; seven sons, Bobby Joe Sanders and Eugene Sanders, both of Calif., Lavelle Sanders, Jerry Sanders, and Wayne Sanders, all of Bastrop, Franklin Sanders of St. Joseph, and S. Sgt. Melvin Sanders in Germany; five daughters, Mrs. Julia Boyer and Mrs. Willie Mae Dooley, both of Bastrop, Mrs. Melba Jean Bass of St. Joseph, Mrs. Doris Rawls and Mrs. Bessie Lee Thomas, both of Natchez, Miss.; five brothers, Chester Sanders of Monroe, Flarce Sanders and Richard Sanders, both of Dodson, Wilmer Sanders of Winnfield, and Webbie Sanders of Joyce; three sisters, Mrs. Willie Mae Warner of Wisner, Mrs. Georgia Porter of Winnfield, and Mrs. Nila Taylor of Shreveport; 29 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
