J. R. Sandifer, 82, Succumbs; Rites February 8

John R. Sandifer, 82, died at 4:04 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 1972, in a nursing
home in Alexandria.  A lifelong resident of Route 1, Colfax, he was a retired
truck farmer.

Survivors include a son, Lavelle A. Sandifer of Bossier City; four daughters,
Mrs. Albert M. May of Pineville, Mrs. H. D. Hay of Houston, Texas, Mrs. J.
M. Chandler of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Leonard Armstrong of Caney, Okla.; a
brother, J. A. Sandifer of West Monroe; nine grandchildren and five great
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 8 in Oak Grove
Baptist Church near Bentley.  Burial was in the church cemetery under the
direction of Southern of Winnfield.
