Sanders Dies Suddenly While Visiting Mother Funeral Services Held In Winnfield Wednesday Afternoon Howard Sanders, 46 years of age, died suddenly at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Sanders, in Smackover, Ark., on Monday night. Mr. Sanders and his family left Winnfield Saturday afternoon to spend the holidays with his parents and while there became ill, succumbing a few hours later. The body was sent to Winnfield Christmas Day and funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon, with the pastor, B. C. Land, officiating. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mr. Sanders was born and reared in Winnfield. In later years he resided in El Dorado, returning here about five or six years ago to live. He was a member of the Baptist Church and an employee of the Mansfield Hardware Lumber Co. Besides his parents, he is survived by his widow, one daughter, Hazel, and one son, Garland, of Winnfield, and three children by a former marriage, all of New Orleans; two brothers, Walter of Oil City and Iley of Smackover, Ark.; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Mathews, Mrs. Nettie Black, and Mrs. Albert Lawn, all of Smackover.
