Sid Sanders, 67, Retired, Dies; Funeral Friday

Sidney S. Sanders, 67, retired employee of Placid Oil Company and a resident
of the McCartney community near Tullos, died at a Winnfield hospital at 6:45
a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 1967, after an illness of several years.

He was a native of Winn Parish and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church,
Tullos Highway.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Calvary Baptist Church
with Rev. Charlie Christie, pastor, officiating.  Burial, under direction of
Hixson Funeral Home, will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Avoy Olden Sanders; one son, Ray Sanders of
Bossier City; one daughter, Mrs. Stella Tarver of Riverside, Calif.; two
brothers, Earl Sanders of Dennison, Texas, and J. Y. Sanders of Tullos; three
sisters, Mrs. Leta Gunter of Goldonna, Mrs. Alma Poole of Campti, and Mrs.
Bertha Davis of Natchitoches; and four grandchildren.
