Huff Sanders of Dodson Succumbs To Illness Saturday Prominent In Business Circles of His Community Sawmill Operator William Huff Sanders, prominent business man, died at his home in Dodson last Saturday after an illness of several months. Mr. Sanders was born December 15, 1890 at Boatner in Jackson Parish and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Sanders, were among the first settlers of that community. His father preceded him in death five years ago. Mr. Sanders was a member of the Methodist Church, which he joined in early manhood. For years Mr. Sanders engaged in the sawmill business and later erected and operated a cotton gin in Dodson. Failing health forced him to suspend all business activities and for more than a year he has been inactive in business circles. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. H. C. Murphy, the Rev. I. A. Patton, and the Rev. Fortenberry, and interment was made in the Transport Cemetery, five miles north of Dodson. Besides the many friends the deceased is survived by his mother, Mrs. W. S. Sanders, his wife, Maggie Gaar Sanders, his six children, Will, Ed, Wilbur, Wade, Rose Mary, Lora Dell, and Norman Jean, and four sisters, Mrs. W. C. Cookston of Winnfield, Mrs. A. L. Terrell of Dodson, Mrs. Oris Branch of Shreveport, and Miss Margaret Sanders of Dodson; and four brothers, G. I. and Arnold Sanders of Dodson, Dewey Sanders of Shreveport, and Tom Sanders of Monroe.
