Funeral Rites For Sam E. Tidwell Held

Funeral services for Sam E. Tidwell, 43, of Tullos were held at 10 a.m. Friday
at First Baptist Church of Tullos with the Revs. Coda Salter and E. B. Barton
officiating.

Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Tidwell was killed Tuesday, January 9, 1973, in a shooting incident near
Grayson.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Maggie Long Tidwell of Tullos; two sons, Sam
Tidwell, Jr. and George Tidwell, both of Tullos; a brother, David Tidwell of
Alvin, Texas; three half-brothers, Cecil Tidwell of Georgetown, Tid Tidwell of
Winnfield, and Edwin Tidwell of South Carolina; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Peck
of Shreveport, Mrs. Inez Jones of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Thelma Starks of Dry
Prong; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Mannie King and Mrs. Leona White, both of
Georgetown.
