C. Savage. The boy with an older brother and a playmate were on their way to school. The two smaller boys ran on ahead of the older boy toward some flat cars standing on a siding and it is presumed the boy was climbing on cars when engine switching struck cars and the impact knocking the little fellow off and cars running over his leg and side mangling him, resulting in his death a few hours later. It is a shock to the loved ones to have one snatched away so suddenly. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church here at three o'clock yesterday afternoon, Rev. L. D. Posey conducting the services. Burial took place in the Winnfield Cemetery. The Enterprise extends sympathy to the bereaved. (The name of this youth was not given in the article but Bruce Hardy Savage is listed in Briley's Cemetery Directory, buried at Winnfield City Cemetery)
