O. Schwartz Dies In Alexandria Otto Schwartz, age ten years and six months, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Schwartz, died at the Baptist Hospital in Alexandria at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 1933, following an illness of several weeks. The child, a pupil in the fifth grade, first became ill with measles about two months ago. Complications brought on by the disease made an operation necessary and the child was taken to the hospital where he underwent operations and has seemingly improved until about two weeks ago when he suddenly became worse and gradually grew weaker until death resulted. The body was carried to Kentwood, La., Monday, April 24, where interment was made in the Kentwood Cemetery. The deceased is survived by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Schwartz of Winnfield, and one sister, Miss Elizabeth Strickland of Kentwood. Friends and teachers of the little boy kept in close touch with him while he was in the hospital, visiting him often. Some were able to pay a farewell visit before the body was carried on Kentwood Monday.
