J. Scott Tuesday Mrs. E. J. Scott, 85 years, seven months, and five days of age, died at the home of her son, W. C. Turner, on the Winnfield-Natchitoches highway, Sunday evening following a two week's illness. Funeral services were held at the Turner residence Tuesday with Rev. Alwin Stokes, Presbyterian pastor in charge. Interment was made in the Winnfield Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Charlie Cole, Charlie Smith, Elby Crooks, Lee Grigsby, Manton Wood, and Lee Dunn. Mrs. Scott, a member of the Christian Church, was a native of Dallas, Texas and had been residing here with her son for a number of years. Surviving are one son, W. C. Turner of Winnfield; nine grandchildren, and three brothers, Virgil, George, and John Gore all of Texas.
