Father of Former Winnfield Residents Claimed By Death

Funeral services were held last week at the First Baptist Church of Fryeburg,
La., for J. E. Scott, 81, father of Mrs. Bertha Jarnigan, Mrs. A. L. Bryan,
and A. E. Scott, former Winnfield residents, with Rev. J. I. Spainhour of
Ringgold officiating.  Interment was made in the Providence Cemetery near
Ringgold.

Mr. Scott is survived by his wife and eight children: Dr. J. W. Scott and Mrs.
Bertha Jarnagin of Rochelle, Mrs. A. L. Bryan of Baton Rouge, Herbert S. Scott
of Ringgold, A. E. Scott and Dr. J. E. Scott of Shreveport, Pfc. L. F. Scott,
Plattsburg Barracks, New York, and Sgt. L. W. Scott, Pittsburg, Pa.
