Last Rites Are Held For Mrs. M. Scarborough

Mrs. Mattie Corbitt Scarborough, died Thursday, August 14, at her home at the
age of 85 years.  She is survived by one son and four daughters, E. M.
Scarborough, Lake Charles, La.; Mrs. R. R. Dennis, Mrs. J. M. Hyde and Miss
Bonnie Scarborough, Winnfield, La.; and Mrs. W. J. Pine of Natchitoches, La.
She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  Mrs.
Scarborough had lived in Winnfield for the past 33 years and had been a member
of the First Baptist Church since childhood.

Funeral services were held in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. H. H.
McBride officiating, assisted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes and the Rev. H. B.
Hysell.

Pallbearers were John W. McCloy, Jessie Corley, V. Matt Milam, Eugene Beck, D.
Q. Madden and Jewel Maxey.

Out of town relatives and friends attending were Mr. and Mrs. E. M.
Scarborough, Lake Charles, La.; Mrs. W. J. Pine and Misses Vera, Martha Ray,
Aubrey, Joanna, and Mary Pine, and Jack Pine of Natchitoches, La.; Mr. and
Mrs. Francis Watson, Lake Charles; Mr. and Mrs. James Hyde of Alexandria; Mr.
Archie Pine of Goldonna; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pine and children of Stevens, Ark.;
Glen Pine of Leesville; Miss Gengie Prothro of Atlanta, Texas; Mrs. Minnie
Scarborough or Robeline; Mr. Truett Scarborough of Ruston; Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie
Scarborough and daughter, Fie, and Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Scarborough and son,
Glen, of Natchitoches; Mr. G. W. Barnes and Mr. H. H. Barnes of Shreveport;
Mrs. Elizabeth Neely of Rock Hill, S. C.; Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Corbitt,
