Sanders E. C. Sanders, age 67 years, died at the home of J. B. Curry this city, last Thursday afternoon at about 4:30 o'clock from an attack of acute indigestion. Mr. Sanders had come to Winnfield to see about some land leases and was in Moss and Peters office when he became suddenly ill. He was rushed to the home of Mr. Curry where he lived only a short while. Mr. Sanders was born and reared in Winn Parish, and has lived her all his life. He was a member of the Baptist Church at Cross Roads, member of Chas. F. Buck Lodge No. 260, F. & A. M., of Urania, and was numbered among Winn's most substantial citizens. He leaves his wife and 8 children: L. T. Sanders of Winnfield, Y. M. Sanders, Nickle, La., C. P. Sanders of Minden, La., N. P. Sanders, Sikes, and L. B. Sanders, Rochelle, La., Mrs. Dollie Oden Weems, Tullos, Mrs. Mae Ople Hand, Tucson, Ariz., and Miss Aubra Sanders. There are also two brothers and one sister, H. C. Sanders of Tullos who was with him when he was stricken, J. C. Sanders of Oakdale, and Mrs. P. A. Spears of Tullos. The remains were interred at Cross Roads Cemetery last Friday. The Masons will pay their last rites in a procession at the grave Sunday, May 3rd.
