Owen Shaw Dies Of Sudden Illness

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Couley Methodist Church near
Winnfield for Owen H. Shaw, 71, who died Tuesday, October 12, 1976 at his
residence in Winnfield after a sudden illness.

Officiating were the Rev. Eskel Tatum and the Rev. Charles Haley.  Burial
was in the Double Church Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral
Home of Winnfield.

Mr. Shaw was a native of Winn Parish, a member of the Couley Methodist Church
and retired from the Louisiana Highway Department.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Shaw of Winnfield; three sons, Orval
Shaw of Port Arthur, Texas, Douglas Shaw of Houston, Texas, and Terry Shaw of
Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Thee Rowell and Mrs. Bobby Kelly, both of
Winnfield; one brother, Hershel Shaw of Shreveport; eight grandchildren and
five great grandchildren.
