T. Shaw, Sr., 64, Well Known At Atlanta, Dies Long Illness Claims Prominent Man at Home Monday Night A well known citizen and member of the Atlanta Community, J. T. Shaw, Sr., was called by death Monday night, Nov. 17. He died in his home here after a long and lengthy illness, in the presence of a host of friends and relatives. He was 64 years old and was loved by all, and was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church for a number of years. He was a school bus driver for a number of years lacking two years filling out his time. On account of ill health, he could hold it no longer. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Tillman Brown of Wheeling and Rev. Kelly of Atlanta. The Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro was in charge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lela Shaw, and eight children: Mrs. O. G. Neal, L. L. Shaw, Odelle Shaw, J. T. Shaw, Jr., and Miss Ellen Shaw, all of Atlanta; D. C. Shaw, Clarks; L. R. Shaw, Lumbeck, Tex.; W. A. Shaw, U. S. Army; one sister, Mrs. Julia Brown of Kilgore, Texas; two brothers, S. C. Shaw, Colfax, La., and J. R. Shaw, Elizabeth, La. and eight grandchildren.
