All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: October 27, 1953 Winn Parish Enterprise or Winnfield News-American Oak Grove Man, Winn Native, Is Buried On Monday Clarence Anglo Shaw, 68 year old Winn Parish native, died Sunday at 4 a.m. at his home in Oak Grove. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at Mount Zion Methodist Church. Mr. Shaw, son of the late John and Martha Shaw, was born and reared in Ward Five of Winn Parish. He had lived in Oak Grove since 1929. He followed farming as a livelihood. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mrs. Lula Wardlow, assisted by Rev. Edwards, Rev. Hoffpauir, and Rev. Baum. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery under direction of an Oak Grove funeral home, assisted by Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mr. Shaw was married in 1921 to Mrs. Etta Rawlins Shaw, who survives him. Other survivors are one son, J. Dean Shaw of Port Arthur, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Creel of Covington; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary Luther of Many, Mrs. Beulah Wallace of Verda, Mrs. Ruth Head of Oak Grove; one stepson, Johnny Rawlins of Cleveland, Texas; 15 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were nephews, L. Grafton Shaw, Floyd Shaw, Jack Shaw, Auburn Shaw, Willie Taylor, and Vesca Shaw.
