Murphy Shaw Dies At Home of His Parents In Couley Saturday

Murphy Shaw, 31 years of age, died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.
Shaw, in Couley, Saturday, September 7, 1935, following an illness of about
nine days.  Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock at
Double Church with the Rev. Arthur McVey and the Rev. O. L. Tucker of
Winnfield officiating.  Interment was in the Double Church Cemetery.  A large
crowd of relatives and friends attended the last rites.

Mr. Shaw was born and reared in the Couley Community and was the oldest son of
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Shaw.  He was one of the community's progressive young
farmers. 

Surviving besides his parents are two brothers, Hershel and O. H. Shaw, both
of Couley.
