Brother In Law Of Mrs. A. P. Burton Buried In Grant Parish

Funeral services for S. C. Shaw, 71, former superintendent of schools in Grant
Parish, were held at the Colfax Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan.
22.  Mr. Shaw died in an Alexandria hospital on Jan. 20.  Burial was in the
Hebron Cemetery near Colfax under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home.

Mr. Shaw was the brother in law of Mrs. A. P. Burton of Winnfield and was well
known in this parish.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leola Young Shaw,
Colfax; three sons, Cmdr. Elton Shaw of Jacksonville, Fla., Meade Shaw of
Alexandria, and Glenn M. Shaw of Lake Charles; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn
Roach of California and Mrs. Genie Quinn of Manheim, Germany; a brother, J. L.
Shaw of Natchitoches; and 11 grandchildren.

Relatives attending the last rites were Mrs. A. P. Burton, Winnfield; C. W.
Brokaw, Mr. and Mrs. Carter Wideman, Mr. And Mrs. Joe LeSage, Sr., and Mr. And
Mrs. Robert Kent, all of Homer, La., and I. W. Young of Port Arthur, Texas.
