B. Shaw at Mt. Zion Jan. 24 Funeral services for W. B. "Billy" Shaw, 75 years, three months and 22 days of age, who died January 21, 1947, were held Friday, January 24, 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Methodist Church with Rev. J. A. Jones of Glenmora, assisted by Rev. T. A. Brown and Rev. Atkins. Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with Edmonds Funeral Home in charge. Active pallbearers were F. J. Neal, Edmond Neal, J. T. McLamore, Jesse Teddlie, Ollie Bishop, and Owens Mitchell. Born in Grant Parish near Montgomery, Mr. Shaw lived his lifetime in Grant and Winn Parishes. For the past year he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Oscar Lovell of Winnfield. He was in failing health for several years. He accepted Christ in his early life and lived a devoted Christian life. He was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church and attended services regularly until ill health prevented. Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Oscar Lovell, Winnfield, Mrs. E. B. Barton, Rt. 1, Winnfield, Mrs. Albert Wolfe, Mills Creek, Ind.; six sons, Vesca, Grafton, Floyd, of Montgomery, Rt. 1; Wilburn of Montgomery, John Auburn of Bentley, Jack of Keller, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. H. J. Taylor, Mrs. Irvin Sutton of Montgomery, Angelo Shaw of Kilbourne; 22 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
