William M. Shaw Funeral Is Held Here Last Thursday

William Morris "Hawk" Shaw, 50, passed away Wednesday, September 30, from the
results of an acute attack suffered earlier in the day.  Mr. Shaw was born
November 12, 1902.

Funeral services were conducted in the First Baptist Church of Winnfield by
the Rev. L. B. Williams, pastor of the Corinth Baptist Church of which Mr.
Shaw was a member.  Assisting ministers were Dr. W. L. Holcomb, pastor of the
First Baptist Church, Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the Winnfield Presbyterian
Church, and Rev. Luther L. Booth, pastor of the First Methodist Church.

Interment was in the church cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.

Graveside services were rendered by Eastern Star Lodge No. 151, F. & A. M.,
Bro. J. W. Mitchell presiding as Worshipful Master.

Active pallbearers were Bro. Robert Kraft, T. G. Kelley, Please Warren, A. L.
Carter, Virgil Jones, and Harold DeBray.

Mr. Shaw is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jessie Long Shaw, father, and mother,
Mr. and Mrs. Erie Shaw; two brothers, Rayford and Clyde Shaw; and a host of
other close relatives and friends.
