Funeral Services for Judge Shelton on Christmas Day

Judge Shelton, age 39, died at the home of Mrs. Addie Ray on Friday, December
24, following an illness of ten days with pneumonia.  Funeral services
were held on Christmas day at 11:30 in the morning conducted by the Rev. W. D.
Sherwood and interment was made in the Swindle Cemetery near Sardis.

The deceased is survived by his father, J. E. Shelton; three brothers,
Clarence, Aubrey, and Julius Shelton, of Atlanta, three sisters, Mrs. Myrtice
Hyde, Mrs. Robert Hallmark, and Miss Ophelia Shelton of Atlanta.

Pallbearers included Ballard Smith, Muriel McIlwain, Mack Barton, J. B. Smith,
Luther Collins, and O. O. Dickerson.
