Shell Services for Mrs. Lillian A. Shell, 96, of Chatham, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Chatham with the Rev. Thomas C. Beeler officiating. Burial was in Chatham Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mrs. Shell died Thursday, February 10, 1983 at West Monroe Guest House after a short illness. She was a charter member of the First United Methodist Women and the Avelee Ewing Sunday school class. She was a lifetime member of the Missionary Society. Survivors include three sons, Garland Shell of Monroe, D. A. Shell of West Monroe, and Luther G. Shell of Satsuma, Ala.; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence Russell and Mrs. Leon Mendoza, both of Orange, Texas; 26 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Denton Russell, James Shell, Stanley Brumfield, Paul Dwane Jacobs, David Jacobs, John Shell, Dickie Shell, Pat Brady, and William Griggs.
