Rev. Shelton, 73, Winn Native, Dies In Algiers

Rev. Leroy Shelton, 73, of Algiers, La., native of Winn Parish, died
Wednesday, December 8, 1971 in Algiers.

Rev. Shelton, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marion T. Shelton, pioneer
residents of Winn Parish, had pastored the Algiers Baptist Church for 36 years
before his death.

Funeral services were conducted at Sardis Baptist Church Monday with Rev.
Coplin of Algiers officiating, assisted by Rev. E. B. Barton.  Interment was
in Brown Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, two sons, three daughters, and several brothers
and sisters.

He is also survived locally by a number of cousins.
