Funeral Rites For Mrs. Mattie Shelton Held

Mrs. Mattie Shelton, 87, of Winnfield died December 24, in a local hospital.

Services were held at Sardis Baptist church Thursday at 11 a.m. with Rev. C.
W. Jones officiating, assisted by Rev. Joe Weatherford and Rev. Ernest Evans.
Interment was in the Sardis Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home
of Winnfield.

She was a member of the Sardis Baptist church.

Survivors include three sons, Clarence Shelton, Aubrey Shelton and Julius
Shelton all of Winnfield.

Four daughters, Mrs. Artie Smart of El Dorado, Ark., Mrs. Ida Mae Hallmark, of
Atlanta, Mrs. Angie Hyde of Winnfield, Mrs. Ophelia Vercher of Atlanta.

One brother, G. W. Evans of Winnfield, 30 grandchildren and 52 great
grandchildren.
