All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: July 29, 1937 Winn Parish Enterprise Tetanus Is Fatal To 5 Year Old Former Winnfield Youth A small splinter in his foot proved fatal to five year old Elbert Stewart "June Bug" Sheppard who died at his home in El Dorado Saturday night at 8:45 after developing lockjaw. "Junebug" as he was known by his family and friends, lived in Winnfield most of his life until he moved to El Dorado a short while ago with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Sheppard. Surviving besides his parents, are his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sheppard of Winnfield and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Myrick of El Dorado. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 with interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery at El Dorado. Attending the last rites from Winnfield were Mr. and Mrs. Sheppard and daugher, Maggie, and son, Kennie; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Weeks, Mrs. Lloyd Carroway, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Plunkett, Mrs. Walter Price, Mrs. Homer Cleary and daughter, Lois, and Mrs. Dowden, and Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Smith of Quitman.
