Death Claims S. F. Sherwood Of Rt. 1, Winnfield

Funeral services for Samuel Frances Sherwood, 68 years, two months, and eight
days of age, who died at the home of his brother, Rev. W. D. Sherwood, Route
One, Winnfield, November 26, 1944, after an illness of several months, were
held November 27 at Jersualem Cemetery with Rev. Guy Allen and Rev. H. H.
McBride officiating.  The funeral procession left the residence of Clyde E.
Sherwood, 30 A N. St. John St. at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Hixson
Brothers.

Pallbearers were Gordon Dickerson, Lester Dickerson, John Hyde, Lean Dean,
Aylon and C. E. Sherwood.

Mr. Sherwood was born September 13, 1876 in Catahoula Parish, the son of Lydia
Brian and King Sherwood.  He moved to Winn Parish in 1886 and resided here
until his death.

Surviving are one brother, Rev. W. D. Sherwood, Winnfield, and one sister,
Mrs. Marvin Anders, Tioga, La., 23 nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
