Sam F. Sherwood Dies Sunday A. M. At Home of Brother

Funeral Services Held Monday Afternoon At Jerusalem

Samuel Francis Sherwood, age 68, died last Sunday morning at the home of his
brother, the Rev. W. D. Sherwood with whom he lived on Route One.  Funeral
services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Jerusalem Baptist
Church conducted by the Rev. Guy Allen and the Rev. H. H. McBride after
which interment was made in the Jerusalem Church Cemetery.

The deceased was born in Catahoula Parish September 18, 1876, and in 1886 he
moved with his parents, the late King and Lydia Brian Sherwood, to Winn Parish
where he continued to live until his death.  He was a member of the Sardis
Baptist Church.

Surviving him are one brother, Rev. W. D. Sherwood, Route One, and one
sister, Mrs. Marvin Anders, Tioga, and 23 nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were nephews and included Gordon Dickerson, Lester Dickerson,
Otis Dickerson, W. E. Sherwood, A. H. Sherwood, and C. E. Sherwood.
