Death Claims Octogenarian Here Saturday

Mrs. Eliza Shetley, Native of Missouri Dies

Mrs. Eliza Shetley, 82 years and three months of age, died at her home here
Saturday, August 29, 1936, from heart trouble.  Funeral services were
conducted Monday, August 31st at the Winnfield Methodist Church with the
pastor, Rev. K. W. Dodson, in charge, assisted by the Rev. B. C. Land and Rev.
Alwin Stokes.  Interment was in the Goldonna Cemetery.

Mrs. Shetley was a native of Missouri.  She came to Louisiana following her
marriage to Mr. Shetley.  She had been a member of the Methodist Church since
she was 11 years of age.

Surviving are five daughters and one son, Mrs. T. E. Hewitt, of Oakdale; Mrs.
S. C. Stinson, Calvin; Mr. M. Shetley, Winnfield; Laura Shetley, Winnfield;
Mrs. Lee Townsend, Winnfield; Mrs. G. A. Bass, Granite City, Ill.  Fifteen
grandchildren also survive.
