Shetley of Winnfield were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 1984 in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Grayson Watson officiating. Burial was in Corinth Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mrs. Shetley, 79, died at 9:45 p.m. February 29th in Glenwood Regional Medical Center, West Monroe, after about a six week illness. She was owner and operator of Fannie's Flower and Gift Shop until April 1, 1979 when she sold it and retired. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served on the Board of Ministries in the past. She was Chairman of the Altar Guild Committee for nearly twenty-five years and was currently serving in that capacity. She was a member of the Day Unit of the United Methodist Women and a member of the Orphanage Circle which is unique in it's objective of helping children orphaned or residents for other reaons in Ruston, Louisiana, now called The Children's Home. She made many trips carrying clothing and house linen, etc., to the home. She was interested in all phases of her church, in her city and in her parish. She loved children, young people, and kept in touch and did many kindnesses for the elderly. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Mary J. Varnell of Winnfield and Mrs. Monnie Pankey of Monroe. She was also survived by a half-brother, Mr. O. Ferrell Jarnagin, Winnfield, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Lois Porter of Winnfield and Mrs. Nelda Garrett of Morgan City. Pallbearers were Mr. Gregg Davies, Mr. Lewis Franks, Mr. Holmes E. Harris, Mr. James Scarborough, Mr. Frank L. Shaw, and Mr. Dudley Shell. Honorary pallbearers were Mr. O. W. Allen, Mr. Jim H. Boatman, Mr. L. L. Brewton, Sr., Mr. Maxwell T. Crowe, Mr. Reggie V. Gates, Mr. S. Blanchard Harper, Mr. Tracy L. Harrel, Sr., Dr. John T. Mosley, Mr. J. G. Russell, Jr., Mr. O. T. "Bill" White, and Mr. Harper Terrill.
