DeWitt Shively Services for James DeWitt Shively of Gansville Community, Dodson, La., were at 2 p.m. Friday, August 2, in the chapel of Edmonds Funeral Home in Jonesboro, La., with the Revs. Louis Moffett and Robert Leach officiating. Burial was in Siloam Cemetery in Gansville. Mr. Shively, 73, died Tuesday, July 20, 1991, at Oschner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans after a short illness. Born November 21, 19__, Mr. Shively was a native of Winn Parish, a veteran of World War II, a retired radio operator for the La. Dept. of Highways and a member of Siloam Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Oleen Temple Shively of Gansville Community; three sons, Buford Shively of DeSoto, Texas, Marvin Shively of Jonesboro, and Vernon Shively of Shreveport; one daughter, Mrs. Joe Lynn (Pam) Browning of Gansville; three brothers, Leroy Shively of Winnfield, Simon Shively of Shreveport, and Jerry Shively of Jonesboro; two sisters, Ethel Jolley and Margie O'Neal, both of Shreveport; and 10 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Harold Earls, Butch Brouillette, Andre Derr, Darwin Gates, Von Boyett, and Gary Browning.
