Former Winnfield Resident Dies At El Dorado, Ark.

Calvin Shipman, 68, father of Mrs. E. C. Eyer of Winnfield and a former
resident of this city, died at an El Dorado, Ark., hospital on Saturday, May
3, following a two week illness.

Funeral services were held at the Second Baptist Church in El Dorado Sunday
afternoon, May 4, with the Rev. James Carroll officiating.

Mr. Shipman is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Eyer of Winnfield, Mrs. G. T.
Farnell of El Dorado, and Mrs. E. W. McDaniel of South Bend, Ind.; two sons,
Percy Shipman of Houston, Texas and Terry Shipman of South Bend; a sister,
Mrs. Leslie Simmons of Memphis, Tenn., and eight grandchildren.

Mr. Shipman had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. G. T. Farnell, in El
Dorado for the past year and a half.  He was a retired railroad employee.
