Final Rites For H. L. Shirley to Be Held Friday, 2 P.M.

Final rites for Harvey L. Shirley, 55, of Winnfield, who died in a local
hospital at 2:15 a.m. January 14, will be conducted at the Tannehill Baptist
Church at 2 p.m. Friday, January 15.  Officiating will be the Rev. T. L.
Rhymes and the Rev. Willie Broadway.  Burial will follow in the Zion Cemetery
under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

A native of Caldwell Parish, Mr. Shirley had spent most of his life in the
Tannehill Community.  He retired several years ago from dairy farming because
of ill health.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Zula Shirley and one son, J. L. Shirley, both of
Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Jessie Faye Hutchinson, Baton Rouge; three
grandchildren; five brothers, C. J. Shirley, Sr., Coushatta; Burl A. Shirley
and Cas Shirley, Winnfield, and E. H. Shirley, Baton Rouge (only four listed);
four sisters, Mrs. Sam Dunn and Mrs. Don Thornton, Winnfield, Mrs. E. V.
Blair, Dodson, and Mrs. Russell McLamore, Natchitoches.
