Shirley Funeral Services Held At Mt. Zion Church (should be Zion Hill Church) A heart attack while standing on the corner of Court and Bevill Streets proved fatal to Rovert Lee Shirley, age 69, Monday evening about seven o'clock. Mr. Shirley had been in town almost all day Monday and was awaiting the arrival of the car that was to take him to his home about four miles on what is known as the Horse Shoe Road, when he was stricken. Mr. Shirley was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church, where funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at three o'clock, conducted by the Rev. H. H. McBride, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield. Mr. Shirley, with his family, had resided in Winn Parish for more than twenty years, moving here form Caldwell Parish. Surviving him are ten children, C. J. Shirley of Chatham, Harvey Shirley, Mrs. May Blair, A. L. Shirley, C. M. Shirley, Earnest Shirley, Miss Mildred Shirley, and Mrs. Della Griffin of Winnfield, and Homer E. Shirley of Baton Rouge, two brothers, A. D. Shirley of Shreveport and John Shirley of Columbia.
