Last Rites Held For Miss Frances Sholars Jan. 1

Died Tuesday Morning At Drewitt Home in Verda

Funeral services for Miss Frances Sholars, who died at the home of Uriah
Drewitt at Verda at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, were held here at the residence of her
nephew, Sheriff Bryant Sholars, at 2 p.m., Wednesday, with the Rev. H. H.
McBride officiating.

Miss Sholars was 83 years old at the time of her death and was living with the
families of Mr. Drewitt and Willis O'Neal.  She is survived by a number of
nieces and nephews.

Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John D. Gray of
Angola; Mrs. Bob King of El Dorado, Ark.; Henry O'Neal of Bunkie, Mrs.
Clarence West of Bunkie, Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Dewitte and Mr. and Mrs. Osborn
Dewitte of Zwolle, Willis O'Neal of Verda, Mr. and Mrs. Lovette of Verda, and
Mr. and Mrs. H. Says of Marksville.
