Mrs. J. W. Shows, 86, Dies Jan. 8; Rites Held Tues.

Mrs. Mexie Mary Shows, 86, widow of the late J. W. Shows, who served as Police
Jury member of Ward Six, Winn Parish, for many years, died in a local hospital
at 3:30 a.m. Monday, January 8, 1968.

She is survived by three sons, Herman Shows and Julius Shows, both of
Pineville, and Albert Shows of Atlanta; two daughters, Mrs. Birdie Lee Dean of
Atlanta and Mrs. Bermie Lashley of Winnfield; a brother, R. F. Maxwell of Dry
Prong; 16 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Zion's Rest Primitive Baptist
Church at Jonesboro.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

Grandsons were pallbearers.
