Smith Services for Stacy W. Smith were held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Southern with the Revs. J. M. McDonald and Doyle Wesson officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories. Smith, 79, of Joyce, died Tuesday, June 7, 1988 in Humana Hospital, Winn Parish. He was a Sikes native and a World War II Navy veteran. He was founder, owner and operator of Gulf Machine Shop, Lake Charles, from 1954-1985. He was a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association, Woodmen of the World, and East Winnfield Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lois Smith, of Joyce; one son, Lloyd R. Smith of Lake Charles; his father, W. R. Smith of Sikes; four brothers, D. V. Smith of Iowa, La., Curtis Smith of Kelly, Maxel Smith of Sikes, and Jack Smith of Winnfield; two sisters, Nadine Simmons of Cleveland, Miss., and Nellene Fisher of Monroe; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
