Mrs. Derinda Shumake

Mrs. Derinda Shumake, 67 years old, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Floyd Long, in Winnfield, Thursday, December 3.  She was taken ill several
weeks ago at her home in Atlanta but was able to come to Winnfield where it
was found she was suffering from pneumonia.

She is survived by three sons and two daughters, D. Shumake of Yoakum, Texas;
Will and Fred Shumake of Atlanta; Mrs. Lena Vickenair of New Orleans and Mrs.
Floyd Long of Winnfield.

She was buried at Sardis Cemetery Friday, the services being held at the home
in Winnfield by Rev. J. E. Pickering of the Christian Church and at the grave
by Rev. Will Sherwood.

Besides those attending the funeral from Winnfield and Atlanta was a sister
and niece, Mrs. Maggie Morris and daughter of Alexandria.
