Henry Shumake Buried Dec. 27 In Winnsboro

Henry Edward Shumake, 69, a resident of Baskin for the past 12 years and
originally from Alexandria, died at his home December 26.  He was 69.

Mr. Shumake will be remembered in Winnfield as a representative of the State
Employment Security, serving this area during the 1940s.  He was a member of
the American Legion, Royal Arch Masons, and numerous other groups, and was a
veteran of World Wars I and II.

Burial was in the New Winnsboro Cemetery Wednesday.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hazel Roden Shumake, Baskin; a daughter,
Mrs. J. E. Haslitt, Houma; two sisters, Miss Hazel Shumake, Alexandria, and
Mrs. Harry J. Stahl, Shreveport; and two grandsons.
