Mrs. J. W. Shumaker Dead

Mrs. J. W. Shumaker, age 86 years, pioneer citizen of Winn Parish, died
Wednesday, November 17th at her home near Beech Creek, in Ward Two.

Mrs. Shumaker has been a resident of Winn Parish and lived in the house where
she died for more than fifty years.  She is survived by the following
children: Mrs. Sarah Weems of Flat Creek, Mrs. J. L. Willis and Mrs. S. J.
Harper of Winnfield, Mrs. W. H. McCarty of Flat Creek, Mrs. John Newsom of
Newport, La.

Interment was in the Beech Creek Cemetery today.  Those attending the funeral
from Winnfield are Mrs. J. L. Willis, Mrs. S. J. Harper, and Miss Maud Harper.
