All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: November 1, 1972 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Son of Former Winn Residents Interred Here Graveside funeral rites for Jack Siess, 59, of Lake Charles, Louisiana were conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 26, by Reverend Calvin Phelps, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield, under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Lake Charles and Winnfield in Bolton-Teagle Cemetery on the Old Calvin Road. Mr. Siess died Tuesday, October 24, of a heart attack. His parents, the late Louis P. and Minnie Mathis Siess, were former Winnfield residents and Mr. Siess himself was a frequent visitor in his youth. His parents, maternal grandparents, Charles P. and Rachel Bolton Mathis, and great grandparents, Nathaniel and Rachel Wall Bolton, are interred at this burial site. Immediate survivors include two daughters, Jacqueline Siess of Jacksonville, Florida and Terri Siess of Mednia, Ohio; three brothers, Charles P. Siess of Houston, Texas, R. Edward Siess of Lake Charles, and John Dee Siess of Jacksonville, Florida; and one sister, Mrs. Helen L. Kiersey of Lake Charles. In addition to the pallbearers, other relatives attending were Mr. and Mrs. Artis L. Tadlock and daughter of Shreveport, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kepner of Houston, Texas. Also present were Mr. Allen Pearce of Jacksonville, Florida, and Mr. and Mrs. Claburn White and Mrs. Helen Roberts of Hot Springs, Arkansas, friends and former neighbors of the deceased. Relatives of Jack Siess Gather At Teddlie Home At the conclusion of funeral services for Mr. Jack Siess, Thursday, October 26, Miss Lois Teddlie, Mrs. Bess Davis, and Mr. John W. Teddlie, local cousins of the deceased, served refreshments at their residence, 603 E. Lafayette Street, to the following: Mr. and Mrs. R. Edward Siess and Mrs. Helen Keirsey of Lake Charles; Mr. and Mrs. John Dee Siess and Mr. Allen Pearce of Jacksonville, Florida; Mr. and Mrs. Claburn White and Mrs. Helen Roberts of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Reverend Calvin Phelps, Mr. Oswald Martin, and Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Simmons. Mr. Martin and Mrs. Simmons are also local relatives of the deceased's family.
