All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: November 3, 1953 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Mrs. Lewis Siess Dies At 82, Is Buried Here Sunday Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Siess, 82 year old Winnfield native, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Teagle Cemetery. She died at her home in Hot Springs, Ark., on October 29. Mrs. Siess was born in Winn Parish, daughter of the late Charles P. and Rachel Bolton Mathis. Her husband, Lewis Siess, who survives her, was formerly in the mercantile and sawmill business in Winnfield. He later was in business in Alexandria and Lake Charles and moved to Hot Springs several years ago. Mrs. Siess is a cousin of Mrs. W. R. Horton here, and also has other relatives in Winn Parish. Services were conducted at the graveside by Dr. W. L. Holcomb, pastor of the First Baptist Church here. Burial was under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband of Hot Springs, Ark.; four sons, Edward of Lake Charles, Charles of Houston, Texas, D. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jack of Hot Springs; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Kirsey of Birmingham, Ala. Pallbearers were Dalton Martin, Joe Bevill, S. E. Jackson, Jack Oglesby, W. R. Horton, and Tommy Kemper.
