The deceased, an Iberville native, was 27 years of age when he died Tuesday afternoon in the Greenwell Springs sanitarium following an illness of two years. The body was brought to Plaquemine. His father, J. T. Silman, of Plaquemine, is one of the most prominent cattlemen in that section. His mother, Mrs. Laura Silman is a member of the Marioneaux family, one of the better known in the parish. Both Mr. and Mrs. Silman survive. Besides his parents, the deceased is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Curtis Barton and Mrs. J. Wilton Haydel, both of Plaquemine. A third sister, Wilma, preceded him to the grave eight years ago. A supervisor of range riders for his father, the late Mr. Silman was employed for some time by the State of Louisiana in tick eradication work. Just before he became seriously ill, he worked for a short time as a policeman for the City of Plaquemine. The deceased had many friends and relatives here in Winnfield who will regret very much to learn of his death. Pallbearers at the funeral were J. C. LeBlanc, Oletus Durand, Junior Ourso, Allen Haydel, Davis Silman, and Joe Williamson.
