W. Simons Killed In Action On Peleliu, October 26 Father, Wilber Simons, Sister, Elaine, Reside At Sikes Pvt. Norman W. Simons, age 20, with the United States infantry was killed in action October 26, 1944, on Peleliu Island, Palau Islands, according to a telegram received by his father, Wilbur Simons, at Sikes. Besides his father, he is survived by one brother, Pvt. J. W. Simons, now stationed at Camp Robinson, Ark., and one sister, Miss Bonnie Elaine Simons, Sikes. Pvt. Simons entered the service August 9, 1943, at Camp Beauregard and later trained at Camp Adair, Oregon. He was transferred overseas in August this year.
