Final Rites For R. L. Simmons Held At New Hope

Funeral services for R. L. Simmons, 77, who died June 9, 1951, in a Pineville
hospital, were held at the New Hope Methodist Church, June 10, with the Rev.
Grafton Shaw officiating.  Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.

A native of Jackson Parish, Mr. Simmons was making his home with his son in
Winnfield.  He was a member of New Hope Church.

Surviving are six sons: R. W. and L. M. of Winnfield; J. D. and A. W. of
Mangham; Harold Simmons of Sikes, and A. C. Simmons of Winnsboro; one
daughter, Mrs. L. D. Carter of Mangham; one sister, Mrs. Lizzie White of
Hudson; two half sisters, Mrs. Geneva Caldwell and Mrs. Briggs, both of
Monroe.

Acting as pallbearers were nephews of Mr. Simmons.
