Simmons Dies Sunday of Heart Attack Earl Bailey Simmons, 63, native of Sikes and practicing chiropractor of Winnfield, died suddenly of a heart attack while visiting his sister, Mrs. T. A. Gates, of Sikes, Sunday, December 23. Last rites were conducted at the Friendship Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Louis B. Williams and the Rev. J. O. Payne officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were nephews: Thomas Allen Gates, Devane Simmons, Gene Simmons, Donald Ray Thames, Donnie Adams, and Frankie Simmons. Surviving are a son, Earl Huey Simmons of Hawaii; a daughter, Miss Patsy Simmons of Monroe; two brothers, Iley Simmons of Sikes and W. D. "Debs" Simmons of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. T. A. Gates of Sikes, Mrs. B. M. Carr of Monroe, and Mrs. Albert Stanley of Springdale, Arkansas.
