Mrs. Simmons, 70, Winn Native, Dies In Slidell

Mrs. Georgia Simmons, 70, former resident of Joyce, died Friday, January 21,
1972 in Slidell after a long illness.

Widow of the late Oscar Simmons, she was a native of Winn Parish and was a
resident of Slidell for the past two years.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at East Winnfield Baptist Church
with Rev. Yocum officiating.  Burial was in Hurricane Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include three sons, Lyndal Simmons of Oil City, Texas, Kermit
Simmons of Lubbock, Texas, and Benny Simmons of Midland, Texas; one daughter,
Mrs. Charles Tomlinson of Slidell; one brother, Horace McCarty of Shreveport;
one sister, Mrs. Coy Lawrence of Monroe, and 14 grandchildren.
